    • 1.5 – 2 kg beef or pork ribs
    • sea salt and black pepper
    • coarse (powdered / granulated) garlic powder
    • 2 tablespoons apple cider or rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • spice powder – combine 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, cloves and ginger

    • Lay the ribs on a cutting board and cover generously with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Rub a substantial amount of spice powder onto the ribs. There is no need te measure. Just ensure that they are well and evenly coated
    • Pour the vinegar and soy sauce into the slow cooker and add the ribs. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or low for 8 – 10 hours
    • Once cooked, remove the ribs and chill the liquid left in the slow cooker allowing the fat to separate from the juice. Bring the remaining liquid to the boil before simmering for a few minutes. Drizzle juice over ribs before serving
    • Serve with your favourite side dish of vegetables or sweet potato mash
