• Mexican Sirloin With Avocado Salad

    This one is a zingy / semi hot dish with a traditional Mexican flavour.

    Ingredients (for dry rub mixture)

    • 500 grams to 1 kilo sirloin steak (depending on how many you are preparing)
    • 1 tablespoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
    • 1 teaspoon oregano
    • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • pinch of salt

    Method

    1. Combine all ingredients together in a shallow dish
    2. Place each steak directly onto the mixture ensuring each side is coated well
    3. Let steaks sit for 30 minutes before grilling
    4. Cook to your liking and top with avocado salad

    Ingredients (for salad)

    • 2 avocado, diced
    • 1 tomato, diced
    • 1/4 onion, minced
    • 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Method

    1. Mix all prepared ingredients together and spoon evenly over your prepared steaks
    2. Serve with a side of green salad
