• Honey Lime Prawns

    honey lime prawns


    • 300 grams medium sized prawns, peeled
    • 1/4 cup olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • juice of 1 small lime
    • zest of 1 small lime
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes


    1. Combine all ingredients except the prawns into a large Ziploc bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible and turn bag several times to mix ingredients
    2. Add prawns and turn bag a few more times. Place bag in refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to marinade
    3. Heat a frypan over a medium / high heat. There is no need to add oil to the pan as there is enough in the marinade to assist in cooking
    4. Add the prawns in a single layer making sure to avoid overcrowding. This may mean cooking them in more than 1 batch if necessary
    5. Cook the prawns for about 1 minute before turning them and cooking for a further 30 seconds. They should start to slightly curl up and start to turn pink
    6. Serve immediately with a side salad or on a bed of cauliflower rice – recipe here
