• Heart Smart Egg Nog

    Egg nog

    You can make this dairy free by replacing the milk with coconut, soy or almond milk. Additionally you can add rum, brandy or bourbon to make it more traditional but this of course reduces the healthiness of the recipe. This recipe makes 6 serves. Adjust accordingly for more or less.


    • 4 egg yolks
    • 4 egg whites
    • 1/3 cup honey
    • 3 cups milk of choice. I prefer coconut milk but almond, soy or regular are all fine to use
    • 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg


    1. Beat egg yolks until they lighten in colour
    2. Add honey and beat until dissolved
    3. Add milk and stir to combine
    4. Beat egg whites in a bowl until soft peaks form
    5. Whisk the egg whites into the mixture
    6. Chill and serve, sprinkling nutmeg on top
    7. Optionally you can add alcohol of your choice (to taste) prior to serving
