• Gluten And Grain Free Crusty Rolls

    Low carb and gluten free version. Ideal for anyone who cannot go without their bread yet want to cut down on their carb intake

    Ingredients

    • 1 and 1/4 cup tapioca starch or arrowroot powder
    • 1/3 cup coconut flour
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • 1/2 cup coconut butter (liquid volume)
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for topping (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds for topping (optional)
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for topping (optional)

    Method

    1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
    2. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and combine well
    3. Combine egg, honey, water and coconut butter
    4. Add liquids to the dry mixture and combine well
    5. Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Use a small amount of additional arrowroot powder or tapioca starch to stop dough from sticking to your fingers
    6. (Optional). In a small bowl combine sesame seeds, poopy seeds and garlic powder. Roll each ball lightly in the seed mixture
    7. Place each ball on a baking tray lined with baking paper
    8. Bake for 30 – 40 minutes. Remove and allow to cool completely before using
