• Chinese Style Beef Steak

    • 750 grams – 1 kg of high quality steak, sliced thickly
    • 3 tablespoons coconut butter or olive oil
    • 1 onion, sliced thickly

    Ingredients – for marinade

    • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
    • 1 tablespoon tapioca flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 2 tablespoons cold water

    Ingredients – for sauce

    • 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon tapioca flour combined with 1 tablespoon of water


    1. Combine all ingredients for marinade in a large bowl. Add steak pieces and marinade for at least 4 hours in refrigerator
    2. Combine all ingredients for the sauce and place in refrigerator while steak is marinading
    3. Heat coconut butter or olive oil in a fry pan over a high heat. Fry steak pieces until done to your likeness
    4. Remove steak from the fry pan and add the onion. Cook until done. Remove and set aside
    5. Add sauce mixture to the fry pan and cook, stirring often, until it is thick and bubbly
    6. Add steak and onions back to the fry pan and mix well until all pieces are coated
    7. Serve immediately
